The world needs more people like Kelly and her staff. They were amazing with the kids and families, and their animals were so wonderful with the party goers of our 8th birthday party. Can't say enough good things about our experience planning and enjoying this special birthday party that we will remember forever.

Kelly and her staff were very professional and knowledgeable, they were great with the students from our early childhood students to the elementary kids that stopped by to fawn over Benjamin the Bunny and Charlotte the baby pig. We would love to work with them anytime.

Absolutely the best staff I've ever seen!!! The ponies they brought for my daughters princess party were beautiful!!! And the unicorn surprise was a nice touch!!! Kelly is one of the sweetest women I have interacted within the pony ride business! I cannot recommend this business enough! Their service is the absolute best!!!!

We had an event today with Big D's and we are already excited to plan another event soon. Kelly is amazing. She was in constant communication before, during and after the event, making sure she knew exactly what we wanted and making everything run smoothly. When circumstances beyond her control made coming to our event a bit more complicated than normal, she managed to make it all work, offered us an amazing discount, and brought along the petting zoo for free on top of everything else. Her helpers are great, and the animals were friendly, well cared for, and super calm even with a crowd of kids around. I'll choose Big D's again next time our non-profit has an event. Thank you Kelly for everything!

I cannot recommend this company enough!! We had them come for our sons 3rd birthday, the kids loved all the animals and enjoyed Pony rides!!! There was a variety of animals and because our birthday party was in spring there were so many baby animals!!! Many of the kids and parents said this was “the best birthday ever!”

When booking they were quickly responsive. And responded best to texting. They answered all of my questions and even came up with a plan for rain! They showed up on time and ready to go before the party started and guest arrived. They were awesome with all of the kids and cleaned up everything before they left.

Highly recommend!!!! And if we ever do a petting zoo/ pony rides again, we will use them again!!!!

Working with this company was fantastic! They answered all my questions in a prompt manner! And responded best to text. They helped me come up with a solution for Incase it rained, and was just a pure joy to work with!!!! The day of the party they were on time and set up everything before the guest arrived!! When the party was over they cleaned up everything and you could not tell that there was a petting zoo there!!! So happy with this company and will definitely recommend and use them in the future!!!!!

We were so impressed by the petting zoo that we had for a gathering this afternoon! There was a miniature horse, donkey, and mule, as well as goats, sheep, a huge and adorable rabbit, ferrets, chickens, and even a hedgehog! I highly recommend hiring this amazing crew with their animals to entertain the kids for your next outdoor gathering! 🙂

Great experience for our daughter's birthday party! We were told we were getting ducklings, chicks, bunnies, a baby goat and baby pig. We got all that and a baby hedgehog and turkey!! The kids loved it so much and it was a great way to keep everyone, including the parents, entertained. Not sure about the bad reviews, because it was flawless for us.

Big D's did such a wonderful job at my daughter's birthday party. We couldn't have asked for better customer service. They went above and beyond to be accommodating and make my daughter's day as special as possible. Hands down would recommend them to my friends. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We had a great experience with Kelly when we rented a horse and pony to come to our house to surprise our animal lover on her 18th birthday. It's not easy to run an animal business. Kelly was wonderful and helped realize a lifelong memory. It was wonderful.

We had another Incredible experience with Big D's Amusements and Party Event Rentals. Last time, Big D surprised my daughter with two horses on her birthday. THIS TIME, they brought TEN ANIMALS including an ADORABLE PIG, a BEAUTIFUL CALF, mini horses, donkeys, mules, gorgeous goat and two Ginormous, beautiful continental giant Rabbits. It was a surprise, a dream come true for our animal lover daughter, and a memory of a life time. Kelly and her family are AWESOME - kind, responsible, respectful, superb with animals and people. They brought adventure but all contained and cleaned up in no time. The neighborhood just loved it. Can't say enough about how great Big D's is, and how they make dreams come true. Love Big D's!!!

I have had the pleasure of doing business with Big D’s on two separate occasions (2017 & 2019). The service received for the value was incredible. While communication may be slow at times, the service is reliable.

Big D came to our Montessori School, and we absolutely loved the Petting Zoo! They had a variety of animals like a donkey, chicken, pony, piglets, ducks, goats, bunnies & even a hedgehog! Kelly was incredibly friendly & informative. We will definitely keep in contact with Big D for future events.

We had originally arranged to have a train for my son's 2 year old birthday party, but the weather didn't cooperate, so Kelly offered to bring an indoor petting zoo instead as a contingency plan. What an awesome contingency plan! They came early, set up, had LOTS of animals (goats, ducklings, chicks, bunnies, the cutest little piglet who liked to play soccer, a chinchilla and a hedgehog), arranged it all in our garage with tarps and everything, and had bottles for the kids to feed the animals. It was clear the animals were well cared for, and the price couldn't be beat. The kids had an awesome time, and I had no clean up. All around a great experience and I'm really surprised by the negative reviews- maybe it was different management?

Big D's provided a great train ride for our event attendees! They were prompt, helpful, and went above and beyond. Definitely recommend them for any parties!

Words can not express how they made my son feel on his birthday ....he can not stop talking about the horse and his entire birthday experience. They are so compassionate, energetic, and loving people. Their animals are very kid friendly and lovable. The whole experience definitely made a core memory for my son. The neighbor's are still talking about our party!!! On lookers were even intrigued by the festivities of Big D's.

Today was my son's birthday party and on short notice Big D's made it happen and they made the best appearance any child can expect. Thank you so much, we all screamed for ice cream #literally

They brought a mobile petting zoo for my daughter's birthday in October on short notice. We were blown away. They were prompt courteous, and so kind. What set them above the rest though was that they exceeded expectations. They brought way more animals than the package I paid for and stayed an additional 10 minutes to accomodate all the kids. We would use them again without hesitation. The party was a show stopper!

Big D has hired new people and got there reservation system fixed...business is booming.. I was worried also about them showing up on time...no problem....of course we all know about DC traffic. Big D charges by mile and time....very fair.... I visited the farm and the farm animals are treated like humans....great conditions.

Big D showed up on time...we have a great event and I would recommend them to any one.

Thomas the train was the star of the party and made my 3 year old the happiest kid in the world. Company was prompt, pleasant and professional. I highly recommend!

I booked Big D's pony ride and petting zoo for my daughter's 9th birthday party ( I hour session). They arrived a half hour early to ensure they were set upon time, and the staff was friendly and competent. They greeted me right away when they arrived and gave me a professional invoice with no surprises. The animals were very friendly and well-trained, and they even stayed an extra 10 minutes to ensure all the kids got at least one ride on the pony. The petting zoo had a small pony, a goat, rabbit, and two different chickens. One staff member stayed in the petting zoo while the other led the pony ride. Overall a very satisfactory experience - the kids and parents loved it. I would book them again. The only recommendation I would make to the owner is to provide more proactive communication - I had to email and call the week prior and day of to receive confirmation they were coming (customers appreciate it when they do not have to do this). I would also recommend hand sanitizer be provided as part of the petting zoo.

they were great! the only thing was that thier clown wasnt able to come but they brought a real ice cream truck instead and adjusted the price for me! they are all really nice, kind and patient. i will be using them again and refering them to friends

Joy made our daughter's birthday the "best ever"! My daughters own words.

We hired two ponies and an ice cream truck for two hours. Buttercup was one of the ponies, I believe the other one was Misty. They were both gorgeous and gentle ponies. The kids loved patting them and riding them for the entire time - memorable for sure!

Joy was nothing but professional, personable and accommodating. Some of our guests were late to the birthday party; and Joy stayed and accommodated them like a shining star. Joy was about two minutes late and called us from the road. Honestly, we would not have noticed, but totally appreciated her taking the time to call us. The ponies were beautiful, and I even went for a ride. In fact, so did my 85 year old MIL. Joy and her staff were completely attentive and even picked up after the ponies.

I could not have asked for a better birthday party, and would recommend Joy and her company without reservation, to anyone that asks. We live in an area where people tend to be demanding, for sure. I always try to be as accommodating as possible, allowing for reasonable issues that may arise; as both a customer and a business owner. Joy and her staff completely exceeded my expectations, and made our day a perfect one. (How often can someone say they had a perfect event without any problems?)
